Chief Operating Officer
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the company’s day-to-day operational and manufacturing functions, ensuring efficient production, quality control, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth in the ammunition industry. As a key member of the executive team, the COO will lead operations with a focus on safety, innovation, and operational excellence.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, logistics, and safety.
- Ensure all operations align with company goals, budget, and performance standards.
- Drive productivity and efficiency in bullet production lines.
- Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ensure product quality, compliance with ballistic performance standards, and adherence to defense/military or civilian specs.
- Translate the CEO’s vision into actionable operational strategies.
- Support growth initiatives, expansion plans, and entry into new markets.
- Ensure adherence to national and international regulations regarding ammunition manufacturing, including health, safety, and environmental laws (e.g., ATF, OSHA, EPA).
- Manage permits and compliance for firearms and ammunition production.
- Lead and develop cross-functional teams across production, engineering, supply chain, and operations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Optimize sourcing of raw materials (e.g., brass, powder, lead, copper).
- Ensure a robust supply chain and effective inventory management.
- Develop and manage operating budgets.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring business continuity.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in defense, aerospace, or ammunition industries.
